Healing doesn't happen in isolation.
It happens in connection.
Meet the people behind 200 Lights
200 Lights grew through the meeting of two very different ways of understanding care.
Debbie tends to begin with the inner world. She listens for the history beneath a reaction, the protective part inside a conflict, the attachment wound beneath a fear, and the meaning trying to emerge from an altered-state experience. Her work is shaped by decades of clinical practice, teaching, study, and close attention to the ways people heal through relationship.
Kenny often begins with what is happening in the room. He notices the music, the lighting, the temperature, the pace of a conversation, the meal that might help someone feel grounded, and whether a person needs engagement, reassurance, humor, or quiet. He brings a practical and sensory intelligence to the work, along with the understanding that people do not experience care only through words. They experience it through atmosphere, timing, preparation, and the small signals that tell the body it does not have to remain on guard.
Together, they build the container around the work.
Debbie brings the clinical framework, therapeutic discernment, and understanding of trauma, attachment, relationships, identity, and integration. Kenny helps shape the hospitality, music, physical environment, practical flow, and human details surrounding an experience.
Debbie may be listening for what a protective part is trying to prevent. Kenny may be noticing that the person has not eaten, the room feels too bright, or the music is asking too much of them.
Both forms of attention matter.
They do not believe transformation can be forced, performed, or promised.
They believe people deserve preparation without pressure, support without intrusion, and care that does not turn their experience into someone else's agenda.
Sometimes the most helpful response is an interpretation or a carefully chosen question. Sometimes it is silence, a song change, a warm drink, something to eat, or another person remaining calmly nearby.
The story behind the name
There's a particular kind of knowing that arrives during a psychedelic journey — not as a thought you think, but as something that lands. Ineffable is the right word. You don't construct it. It finds you.
What found me was a number. 200 lights.
The sense of it was this: human beings need a certain amount of illumination to live a good life. Not a perfect life. Not a charmed childhood. Just enough lights turned on in those early years — enough moments of safety, delight, attunement, comfort, connection, and being truly seen — that the nervous system has something to run on. That a person can keep growing, and eventually begin turning on more lights for themselves and others.
200 felt like that threshold. The bare minimum for a good life being possible.
Below it lives the most serious wounding — lives organized around survival, nervous systems built in scarcity. That's real, and it's not the work I do here.
But just above it? That's where I find most of the people who come to me. They made it through. They're functional, often accomplished, sometimes outwardly fine. But something feels off at the roots — reactive patterns that don't make sense, relationships that keep hitting the same walls, a flatness or disconnection they can't quite name. They often know their childhood wasn't easy. What they don't yet have is the map.
That's what this work is. That's what I'm here for.
